1.4. By using the Portal, the User fully and unconditionally accepts these Terms. If the User does not agree with the Terms, they must cease using the Portal.
2. Definitions
Portal — the Kōkasoku website that aggregates publicly available data about riichi mahjong players and tournaments and provides related services (personal profiles, tournament registration, a scoring trainer, a wiki).
User — any individual who accesses the Portal.
Player — an individual whose data (name, results, ratings) is displayed on the Portal based on information from public sources.
Account — a User’s personal area on the Portal, created by registration with an email address or by signing in with a Google account.
Administration — IE Leon Nikolaev (“AI MAP”), responsible for the legal and technical operation of the Portal.
Association — Kōkasoku, a voluntary non-commercial union of riichi mahjong players.
3. Subject of the Terms
3.1. The Administration provides the User with free access to the Portal for viewing aggregated data about riichi mahjong players and tournaments.
3.2. The Portal is not a commercial product. Access is provided free of charge. Viewing the Portal does not require registration; an Account is needed only for features that are personal by nature — a player profile, linking game accounts, registering for tournaments, and similar.
4. Accounts
4.1. An Account is created by registering with an email address and password, or by signing in with a Google account. When registering with an email address, the address must be confirmed via a link sent to it; until then, the Account cannot be used to sign in.
4.2. The User is responsible for keeping their credentials confidential and for all actions taken through their Account. The User must promptly notify the Administration at mail@kokasoku.com of any unauthorised use.
4.3. One person may hold one Account. Accounts created by automated means, with someone else’s email address, or for the purpose of disrupting the Portal may be deleted without notice. Accounts whose email address is not confirmed may be deleted after 24 hours.
4.4. The User may delete their Account at any time by contacting the Administration. Deleting an Account does not remove public tournament results and ratings obtained from third-party sources; see section 6.
5. Data Sources
5.1. The Portal aggregates data from the following publicly accessible platforms:
- Pantheon / Sigrun (rating.riichimahjong.org) — tournament ratings and results;
- amae-koromo (amae-koromo.sapk.ch) — Mahjong Soul game statistics (Gold room and above);
- mahjong.click — tournament history and player profiles;
- Tenhou.net — ranked game statistics;
- European Mahjong Association (mahjong-europe.org) — EMA ratings and tournament calendar.
5.2. All data displayed on the Portal is obtained from sources where users have voluntarily made it public through their registration and participation in games and tournaments, or is provided to the Portal by the Users themselves.
6. Rights and Obligations
6.1. The Administration shall: ensure the functioning and availability of the Portal within reasonable limits; not use Player data for commercial purposes, advertising, or profiling; process requests from Players regarding the removal or correction of their data within 30 (thirty) days; inform Users of changes to these Terms by publishing an updated version on the Portal.
6.2. The Administration reserves the right to: modify the functionality, design, and content of the Portal without prior notice; suspend the Portal for maintenance; amend these Terms, indicating the date of the update.
6.3. The User agrees to: refrain from actions aimed at disrupting the Portal’s operation; not use automated tools (scripts, bots) for bulk data collection from the Portal or for creating Accounts; not reproduce Portal data for commercial purposes without the written consent of the Administration; provide accurate information when registering for tournaments.
6.4. The User has the right to: freely view data published on the Portal; contact the Administration with inquiries about data displayed on the Portal.
6.5. A Player whose data is displayed on the Portal has the right to request access to information about themselves, request correction of inaccurate data, request complete removal of their profile from the Portal, and object to the processing of their data. To exercise these rights, the Player shall send a request to mail@kokasoku.com. The Administration shall review and fulfil a justified request within 30 (thirty) days.
7. Limitation of Liability
7.1. The Portal is provided on an “as is” basis. The Administration does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of data obtained from third-party sources.
7.2. The Administration is not liable for temporary unavailability of the Portal caused by technical failures, maintenance, or actions of third parties.
7.3. The Administration is not liable for the content of third-party websites linked from the Portal.
7.4. The Association is a voluntary non-commercial union and does not bear legal liability as a legal entity. All legal responsibility related to the operation of the Portal rests with the Administration.
8. Personal Data
8.1. How the Portal collects and uses personal data is described in the Privacy Policy published at kokasoku.com/privacy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
8.2. The legal basis for processing Player data obtained from public sources is the legitimate interest of the Administration (Art. 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 — GDPR): providing the mahjong community with consolidated access to publicly available tournament results and game statistics.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1. The design, source code, and structure of the Portal are the intellectual property of the Administration.
9.2. Player and tournament data belong to the respective source platforms and are used by the Portal solely for informational non-commercial purposes.
10. Dispute Resolution
10.1. All disputes and disagreements shall be resolved through negotiations. The response time for a complaint is 30 (thirty) days from the date of its receipt.
10.2. If an agreement cannot be reached, the dispute shall be referred to the competent court at the location of the Administration (Yerevan, Republic of Armenia).
10.3. Governing law — the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, with due regard to the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) regarding personal data processing.
11. Final Provisions
11.1. These Terms take effect upon publication on the Portal and remain in force indefinitely.
11.2. The Administration reserves the right to amend these Terms. Amendments take effect upon publication of the updated version on the Portal. Previous editions remain available via the link below.
11.3. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
11.4. For all inquiries related to these Terms, please contact mail@kokasoku.com.
